“Be not afraid of growing slowly, be afraid of standing still.” –
Chinese Proverb
Most people seek counseling when they are at their most vulnerable, and it takes bravery to seek support during this time. It is an honor to be trusted to sit beside you as you show your strength and resilience while taking on life’s challenges.
A strong and trusting therapeutic relationship is one of the most important components when working towards healthy change. In my approach to therapy, you are the expert of your life and your experiences. Therefore, you are the best person to direct your journey as we move toward reaching your personal goals. My job is to provide a safe space to process life’s challenges, and also provide new perspectives and tools for you to consider on your road to healing and peace.
My methods of treatment are evidence-based and include Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Internal Family Systems. I utilize additional tools such as mindfulness and trauma-informed care to provide a holistic approach to treatment.
I use she/her/hers pronouns.
I offer therapy services to adults (ages 18+) in individual sessions via Telehealth only at this time.
AREAS OF INTEREST:
LGBTQIA+ CLIENTS
Our identities often shape how the world views us and, therefore, how we navigate the world. With this understanding, I have a specific interest in and experience working with people who are members of the LGBTQIA+ community and with individuals who are gender non-conforming. My clinical experience includes providing individual therapy, gender-affirming services and identity exploration.
ANXIETY
Anxiety can be a very helpful tool in our lives: It helps keep us motivated, prepared, attentive, protected, and connected with others. It is when we begin to experience anxiety as persistent, distressing, and without relief that we should tune in and seek help. I use CBT and mindfulness to treat anxiety and anxiety disorders.
TRAUMA & EMDR
I am a trained Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) therapist, which is a therapy that uses eye movements to help individuals heal from the symptoms of emotional distress caused by disturbing life experiences.
OTHER CONCERNS THAT I WORK WITH:
- Depression & Mood Disorders
- Substance Use Concerns
- Intimacy Difficulties
- Life Transitions
I strive to provide a comfortable and judgment-free environment for individuals of all ages, races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientations, faith traditions and disability statuses.
